Everyone knows you can have a great time at the fair, especially when you bring a long a few friends. This year, we wanted to try everything the fair had to offer, from the rides and games to the delicious and deep fried food. We had an amazing time, and by the looks of it, so did everyone else!
The third segment to our Columbia Pike episode is here! Welcome to Twisted Vines Bottleshop and Bistro, you can pick up a bottle of wine from vineyards around the world, or hang back and enjoy a glass with friends there. It’s elegant, delicious, and knowledgeable. So kick back, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the show.
We had an overwhelming number of emails asking us to feature this restaurant, so we headed to the east end of the Pike, just steps away from the Air Force memorial, to Dama Restaurant. Dama features authentic Ethiopian cuisine, coffee, and an amazing bakery full of delicious and irresistible treats. Thanks to everyone at Dama for letting us in the kitchen, and to you the viewers for all who wrote in.
We’ve got plenty more episodes coming up, including a brand new place on the Pike, so keep checking back, and keep sending your suggestions.
We’re proud to give you a new episode of Food For Thought, and part of our “Celebrate the Pike” series. Today, we’ll take you over to Abi’s Azteca Bar and Grill, a Mexican and Salvadorian restaurant that has been serving the Pike since 1986. If you want a great homemade meal that has some very amazing authentic flavors, you need to check out Abi’s. Thanks to all of you who wrote and told us that we need to check it out, I can tell you, we’re very happy we did. Check it out for yourself, and let us know what you think.
Have somewhere you love? Do you own a restaurant? Want us to showcase some of the best food you've had in Arlington. Email the producer, and let us know!
Food For Thought focuses on dining, cooking and entertaining as a fun and educational experience. The context doesn’t always allow us to show all the safety standards such as hairnets and gloves. These are usually removed for filming purposes only, and should not reflect how each business operates. Not every step of the process is conveyed in the final, edited episodes.
